The National Center for Homeless Education (NCHE) recently released this excel file containing crosswalked contact information for various agencies serving homeless youth.
  • Continuums of Care (CoCs) funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to administer federally-funded homeless response programming;
  • Local educational agencies (LEAs/school districts); and
  • Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) grantees funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to administer street outreach, basic center, transitional living, and maternity group home programs.
Additionally, the file includes basic homeless education data for LEAs within each CoC's geographical bounds, including the number of children and youth experiencing homelessness enrolled in public schools within the CoC, their primary nighttime residence category, and their membership in student subgroups. This resource updates crosswalks released previously in 2016 and 2018.

The goal of this resource is to facilitate partnership among CoCs, LEAs, and RHY grantees as they serve children, youth, and families experiencing homelessness in the same community. CoC, LEA, and RHY partners also may wish to connect with other partner systems and community stakeholders - including child welfare, juvenile justice, mental and behavioral health, public housing authorities, and afterschool programs - as they develop and implement coordinated community responses to homelessness.

Partners are encouraged to reach out proactively to their CoC, LEA, RHY and other community collaborators to learn more about each other's work and explore areas of mutual benefit for partnership.
