The U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness is charged with coordinating the federal response to homelessness and creating a national partnership at every level of government and with the private sector to reduce and end homelessness in the nation while maximizing the effectiveness of the federal government in contributing to the end of homelessness.

This year, Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training John Pallasch serves as the USICH Chair. To that end, last week, USICH released a new Strategic Plan that places special emphasis on “the Importance and Power of the Dignity of Work” for individuals experiencing homelessness. Please take time to review the Strategic Plan and consider how its recommendations and solutions, particularly as they relate to providing workforce services for individuals experiencing homelessness, can best be integrated into your community.
