In this interactive session, part of the Summer Youth Employment Learning Series, participants will have the opportunity to brainstorm ideas, structures, and concepts that are focused on building out an online internship experience for young people during summer 2021.

This NYEC Workshop will be led by Mukta Ghorpadey, the Associate Director of Post-Secondary Success at DC Prep PrepNext. In 2020, Mukta ran a summer internship program that was able to support young people as they entered career pathways because of strong coalition with organizations across Washington, D.C.

The Aspen Institute Forum for Community Solutions, Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP), National League of Cities (NLC), and National Youth Employment Coalition (NYEC) invite you to a three-part learning series on summer youth employment programs (SYEP). The resilience demonstrated by many communities to adapt to the triple pandemic of COVID-19, the economic crisis, and historical racial injustice offers lessons on how to advance equitable career opportunities for young people this coming summer and year-round.
