Work-based learning and internships are an essential driver of the academic and labor market outcomes young people experience through NAF academies and high-quality career and technical education (CTE) programs. Educators and employers had to quickly shift throughout the spring and summer to make sure that students could still access these opportunities, which are even more critical during rapidly changing job markets and periods of higher unemployment.
This briefing will feature a discussion with employers, CTE directors, and students on how they successfully pivoted during the COVID-19 quarantine. Attendees will also learn about the contributions young people make to the workforce and hear how industries can build early access to the talent pipelines.
